Pressure Vessels

A pressure vessel as a type of unit it is one of the most important components in industrial and petrochemical process plants. In the broad sense, the term pressure vessel encompasses a wide range of unit heat exchangers, reactors, storage vessels, columns, separation vessels, etc.

The design procedure is set according to the operational requirements. These are imposed on the vessel as part of the overall plant and include the following:

Operating Pressure
Design Pressure
Operating Temperature
Design Temperature
Fluid Conditions
External loads

The functional requirements are based on the geometrical parameters & will include following:

Size & Shape of the vessel
Method/Type of vessel support
Location & size of attachements & nozzles

Before manufacturing the complete drawing of the vessel is submitted for approval with following details:

Design conditions
Welding procedures
Key weld details
Heat treatment procedures to be applied
Non-destructive test requirements
Test Pressures
